In your own words define Equality’s sacred word. If you were in Equality's situation what would be your sacred word? Why?
1. Equality and Liberty have new names in this chapter. Equalitys is Prometheus, and Libertys is Gaea. Prometheus, in the books Equality read, brought light of the gods, brought men to it, and taught them howw to be gods. Gaea was the mother of all the earth and gods. These are the reason Equality chose those names. They some what describe both Equality and Liberty.

He wants to gather all of his friends in the society who seem like they still have a spirit, and build a community with them. Equality wants to let all men know what they have been missing out on. Really, Equality wants to change how men see things.
3. The sacred word in this book is EGO. Equality says that he is going to cut, carve, and write this word on stones and above the door ways in the house. He believes that this word can not perish because if it does, man will never learn or be able to live their lives freely. Without the word EGO, man would be just like the society Equality lived in.
honors: Ego is what sets everybody a part from one another. It defines who you are. People have big egos, small egos, or really any ego at all. All it does is make you different. If i were in Equalitys situation my word woulf be self. The word self means you. You are your self! You have your own self interest, and because of this you are different. Just because you have self interst doesn't mean your selfish, or don't care about others. Selfishness is completely different in that you have too much self interest. You have to find the happy middle.

ReplyDeleteEquality and Liberty receive the names Prometheus and Gaea(p.99). Equality decided to use these names, for Prometheus was the bearer of light and Gaea was mother nature. These represent the two characters, for they each are working for a better mankind. They are beginning the rise of a new generation. Liberty is pregnant, and the times are changing.
ReplyDelete2. Equlity wants to rebel. He is going to stay in his hues forever, and he will invite friends to fight with him(p.101). They will begin to spread their civization in future times(p.104). I think Equality wants the entire world to know his name, and live in harmony. They are changing the world.
3. The word Equality shows is "ego"(p.105). He seems to want everybody to know that word, so he will spread it everywhere. His colleagues will be aware of what motives Equality to thrive. Equality says without this word, humankind is damned(p.102). Freedom will prevail.
Honors: Ego is what motivates man. It is a life source that is a result of hard work and adaptation. It drives the human race to have an individual personality. My word would be choice. With choice anything is possible

When he has done all of this he will go back in to the city and call out to people like him. He will lead them to his fortress. He also will cut the word “ego” in stone so it will never again be lost from the Earth. (Pg. 100)
Honors: Ego means having personality and being an individual. My word if I was in Equality’s situation would be the same thing. You can’t be an individual without ego. You aren’t really living if you aren’t your own individual. It also goes against everything the council stands for.
I like how you said that without ego you could not be an individual. I agree with this completely. Ego makes a person have different personalities.

He picked the name Prometheus to be his name because he read about this god that brought light to men. Liberty's name was chosen because of the goddess who was the mother of all gods and the earth. ReplyDelete2. Equality plan on remaining in the house he and Liberty found. He wants to read all of the books in the house and then return to his homeland. He will then share his new knowledge with his brothers and bring them back to the forest with him. His brothers will see Equality's accomlishments and want to live with him and continue learning from him. They will then build a community together and forever live in freedom and peace.
3. Equality's sacred word is "EGO". He sees the importance of this word and refuses to ever let it be forgotten. Equality says he will carve this word into stone and on every portal of his home. This will in some way be his motto. He will always remember this one sacred word and will die before letting anyone take it away from him.
Honors: Equality's sacred word, ego, means being unique and individual. Without ego, everyone would be the same and no one would be set apart from one another. If I were in Equality's situation, my sacred word would be truth. Equality searched for the truth to the reason of life, love, and many other things the Council kept hidden from him. Truth is actual and definite, no one can argue with it. Truth is what will really satisfy mankind in the end.

Delete1. Equality 7-2521 and Liberty 5-3000 have each chosen new names from the gods and goddesses of Ancient Greece. Equality 7-2521 gave himself the name Prometheus (pg. 99). He chose that name for the role that Prometheus plays in Greek myths. Prometheus brings the knowledge of the gods (fire) to the mortals. Mortals have been forbidden from this particular form of knowledge and once Prometheus brought it to them the gods did not approve and they punished Prometheus. Equality 7-2521 sees himself like Prometheus because he feels he is being punished or shunned for bringing knowledge to his brothers. Liberty 5-3000 is given the name Gaea, a Greek goddess of the Earth (pg. 99). She is given this name for Equality 7-2521 sees her as a maternal figure. She is seen as a worker on the planet Earth just as Gaea was seen in Ancient Greece.
ReplyDelete2. Equality 7-2521 has many plans for the future. The first one is to study all of his books and manuscripts for a few years, until he understands it all (pg. 99). Then he plans on raising his children with his new ideals and beliefs of individuality (pg. 100). He also plans to eventually go to find and bring with him to his new home International 4-8818, Fraternity 2-5503, and Solidarity 9-6347 and any others who on the verge of learning the truth but don’t know where to look (pg. 101). He then plans to eventually lead them to help his fellow brothers and sisters so that they too can learn the truth of individualism and freedom. Equality 7-2521 plans on changing the world, taking man out of the darkness and into the light.
3. Equality 7-2521 plans to make the word “Ego” his new logo. He will paint it on every wall, every banner, all over his new home (pg. 105). It is important for Equality 7-2521 believes that this word cannot perish. He wants to keep it alive forever. Without this word, without “Ego”, man would have no heart, no soul, no drive nor inspiration for their lives.
Honors: Ego is a simple word but it has so much power. It is how people think of themselves. It sets everyone apart just from their own personal views of thinking highly of oneself or lowly of oneself. If I were in Equality 7-2521’s position I would have chosen the word “freedom”. Every man deserves his own freedom. Freedom would be able to lead the society into better and greater things. People would be able to make choices for themselves. They would be able to choose for themselves the important decisions for their lives. The freedom would be able to lead each person onto bigger and greater things; they could each be their own people, individual people, with rights and most of all, freedom.

3)Equality finally discovered the sacred word. This word is EGO. He stated that he shall cut it over the entrances to his home and it shall be his banner. Ego is how a person feels about himself. Everyone should have a good ego, but not to large of one. It is okay to be independent and confident, but no one likes a jerk. If I were in Equality's position, my word would be "independence". Without independence, Equality would not be where he is now. He was the one who got himself out of the terrible society and saved Liberty as well.
The way you related independence to Equality was really good, it suits him well.

If I were in Equalities situation my word would be "own". This word stands for so much. I would be my own person and for the first time I would be able to make choices on my own.

3- Equality puts one word above his door and on banners. That word is ego. Ego is a person's sense of self-importance. This word is meaningful to Equality because he has never felt important doing what all of his brothers do in the society. Finally, Equality can feel like he's someone special. He says, "The word which can never die on this earth, for it is the heart of it and the meaning and the glory."(pg.105)
Honors- Equality's sacred word is ego. To me it means when a person feels self-importance. If I was in Equality's situation my word would be freedom. Freedom is the right to act, speak, or think as one wants with no restraint and that is what Equality and Liberty are facing. I think the word freedom describes them living in their house and doing what they please.

Equality's sacred word essentially means what someone thinks of themself. People have different types of egos, ranging from exceedingly arrogant to very modest. Equality for example, is exceedingly arrogant. In my situation, my sacred word world be salvation. Salvation is something that all men seek in one form or another.

Ego is how a person thinks about themselves. I personally think everyone should have good ego, but not to high. Its ok to think of yourself as a good person, but not better then anyone else. If i was in Equality's position my word would be "hope". Without hope you cannot go on any farther. Once you've lost all hope you stop with your goals. Also without hope Equality wouldn't be where he is today. He had hope that his light would go far and look where he is now.

Honors: Ego is what makes you different. It is how you see yourself and what you think of yourself. There are many words out there that can come into place in Equality's situation. My word would be individualism. This would be my word because as Equality went throughout the book he discovered that he could be his own person and that everyone else could also. He discovered that he didint have to be controlled by the council and he could fend for himself. He discovers individualism.

Equality wants peace from other people and from the laws that have made his life miserable. All his life, he has been disciplined for doing wrong, and now he has found peace in the Uncharted Forest.
I never really thought of ego as being someones thoughts and feelings just who they are, but that is what makes a person who they are also.

Honors: The sacred word is once again as I stated above is ego. It means a persons self- esteem. His word is very important because all people have an ego wether it be a low ego or a high. In other words you have no self- esteem or you are obssessed with yourself. What would you do without personality in the world. If I was in Equality's place my word would be "I". That is because its simple and I use it everyday anyways. The word also defines a person showing their thoughts and their own ideas.

3) The sacred word is the word ego. The word ego stands for everything that he has found on his journey. He has found self and he has found “I”. This word is very important to him which is why it’s above his door. That is why it’s above his door.
Honors: The word ego means self or conscious of self. If I were Equality I would pick the word knowledge. I believe that knowledge is the key to everything in this book. In my opinion, without knowledge Equality would have never learned about electricity or the word “I”. That’s why I would pick the word

The word ego is the actions, feelings, and self conciousness of man. I belive that if I were in the position of Equality my word would be rebellion. I would choose rebellion becuase it is the word that defines fighting unjust rule. No person in the society is willing to or even aware of rebellion. If they knew of rebellion and its powers then the council would be overthrown and another government could be put in. Rebellion can be devastating at times, but at other times it is necessary to appose unjust rule.
Equality has given himself and Liberty new names. These names are Gaea and Prometheus (she is Gaea and he is Prometheus). While Equality was reading the books of the Unmentionable Times, the people in the books had real names that meant something. Gaea is the mother of all earth and the gods. Prometheus was basically like the teacher. He discovered the light, brought people to them and taught them about it. Both of these names are very fitting for their personalities and reasoning.

Its healthy to be different, but having too much of an ego can be bad, If your ego is too big, you’ll be a huge jerk. And nobody likes a huge jerk. So your ego can be good or bad, but to lead a good life you need to find the middle, where you can be yourself, but not so much to where you’re mean.

Mortals have been forbidden from this particular form of knowledge and once Prometheus brought it to them the gods did not approve and they punished Prometheus. Liberty 5-3000 is given the name Gaea, a Greek goddess of the Earth (pg. 99). She is given this name for Equality 7-2521 sees her as a maternal figure. She is seen as a worker on the planet Earth just as Gaea was seen in Ancient Greece.

In example, a very positive person has a high ego while a negative person may have a low ego. My sacred word would be Calm. Ego can be a good or bad thing it depends on how you use it. If you have a big ego people can see you as snobby or vain. Yet if you have a little ego it could mean two things one you don't have self confidence or two you just don't like to brag about yourself. This can be good, but I think someone should have an ego imbetween because it is good to have confidence an tell people about your accomplishments. Ego also represents a personality and self being if you have an ego you show you are someone. Yet Equality has a good word mine would be individuality. The reason for this is because you are who you are no matter what and he has shown this throughout the book. Then take all the information from the books and teach them to his brothers. To make it simple he wants to start his out community. H wants to teach them all of the new things he's learn. Finally he wants to tear down the councils power over the people.
3. The sacred word is ego. Equality what this word cut in stone for everyone to see and remember it.Even putting inside his own home. He believes that this word can not be forgotten. If it was forgotten there would be no hope of returning the world to its former glory. The would would never no individuality.

The reason that Equality might have chosen this word is to remind him that someones ego can be a powerful thing.My word would probably be attitude. Someones ego is probably what caused his world to be like it is.
1. Equality's name that he picked is Prometheus.He picked that because Prometheus went against the higher power. He also suffered for it and Equality was whipped.Liberty's new name came from the goddess Gaea who is mother of the earth. Liberty was a gardener back in the Society.
ReplyDelete2.He wants to live his life but on day go back and rebuild the past. He wants to live with Liberty and be happy. To teach his brothers for their minds are weak and dull. The last thing he wants to do is knock the Councils off their high horse.

HONORS: Without having an ego everyone would be the same and the world would be boring. There would be no life, no personality or individuality. The ego is a powerful thing. If i were in Equality's position my sacred word be pride.
